Scanner Pro, CamScanner+, Genius Scan+ and Prizmo document scanner app tests

I love my iPhone and use it for everything. One function I wanted to use it for early on was scanning documents and whiteboards while on the road. Unfortunately I didn’t find a good straight to the point test comparing the more popular apps so I decided to conduct one myself.

I compared the following apps: 

• Scanner Pro
• CamScanner+
• GeniusScan+
• Prizmo 

The pictures where taken about 10 feet from the board and cleaned up using each app's features. The board itself is fairly new and was cleaned right before the test. I used new EXPO brand quality whiteboard markers.

Take a look at the pictures and judge for yourself. After months of use and testing, I find myself using CamScanner+ more and more. It is easy to use and produces the cleanest images.

I have been using CamScanner+ for a while now and very happy wit the results. I haven't tried the OCR function through, but my interest was a clean way to share documents on the go until I am back home to my Canon P-215.
Image size is usually larger than expected in CamScanner but I haven't played with the settings to see if I can compress that.

OCR on mobile devices sucjs, It never works well because the OCR function just needs too much power.
