Although the amounts are correctly associated with the lines, SLO came forward on its Facebook page to dispel this as a myth. The lines on the cups were not added with alcohol in mind (although you can still use it for that).

Nothing is as refreshing on a hot summers day as a cool pitcher of crisp and refreshing beer. The problem is that beer in a pitcher will quickly reach room temperature which cuts some of the satisfaction. 

There are dozens of manufacturers selling specialized pitchers with ice cores but that means you have to spend money.

Since this is a lifehacking article, you may there is another way. A cheaper way. Dare I say it, a FREE way to keep that pitcher of beer cold. 

How do you do it? You add the ice to a plastic party cup and put that in the pitcher.
