If you have a $1000 burning a hole in your wallet and you love the clumsy interface of Windows 8 then your in luck. You can now waltz into most electronics resellers and pick up a shiny new Microsoft designed and built Surface Pro tablet running Windows 8.
In addition to the tablet, you will want to pickup the type keyboard (forget the touch one) and maybe a mouse? I'm pretty sure demand won't overwhelm supply so feel free to stroll in at your convenience.
At BestBuy US
Although Microsoft hasn't provided any guidance on the number of Surface Pro devices made available at launch, we are now seeing some locations run out of the 128GB model. It seems the US Microsoft store along with some US/Canadian Best buy locations are now running out of the 128GB model.
It is good news for Microsoft that a $1000 "tablet" with 4 hours of battery life is being fairly well received by the public. As for me, I will wait and see if/when they announce version 2 with [hopefully] newer chips making the device faster and more energy efficient.
